"Those who wish to sing always find a song"

Who Are JUST SING?

Just Sing Ladies and Just Sing Kids were launched in 2021 by Tori Hannath and Heather Burns, two ladies who just wanted to sing. It was their vision to find like minded ladies who also wanted to meet together to ‘Just Sing’. What started with 2 like minded ladies has turned into 70+ like minded ladies and 30+ kids who meet every Thursday night.

But Just Sing is so much more than just a choir! It has become a valued community, a lifeline to many of its members, and it continues to grow from strength to strength.

Just Sing choirs sing a wide variety of genres with the aim of promoting a love for singing, develop mental well-being, improve singing technique and musicianship. Most importantly, our members use singing as a tool to develop self-confidence and work in harmony, helping singers of all abilities feel energized and uplifted!

Just Sing choirs have had the opportunity to perform in local churches, a variety of charity events, country estates, museums, government buildings, Stormont and Windsor Castle, as part of the BBC’s coverage of the King’s Coronation Concert.

To date, the choirs have also won a variety of prizes at local music festivals and now we are planning on broadening our horizons even further! Our story continues ……………………..

Just Sing News

A message from our amazing Musical Director Heather!!! We are so unbelievably proud of you 🌟💖and privileged to be taught & inspired by you every week ! 🫶🏼
So…..Last Monday I was given the most amazing opportunity to attend the Women of the Year awards in the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, on behalf of all the ladies of Just Sing.
I headed off, in my ever trust worthy Dr Martens. Having planned ahead for the ever delightful Tube system and thinking of my walk across Hyde Park to get to the hotel and forgetting that really I should have been dressed as I’d never dressed before! The style was unreal!!
To say it was like an out of body experience is an understatement! I witnessed a room full of strong women all pushing the boundaries within their given fields.
The most humbling point of the day for me was sharing a conversation with a very brave and strong Baroness (a real life Baroness 😳), whilst trying to eat my Lemon Meringue dessert in a lady like manner.
It was a day of discovery, humility, strength, jubilation, and upmost respect for the work that women do on a daily basis. It took ‘girl power’ to a whole new level.
The winners in every category simply were inspirational, reflecting the power of resilience and gritty determination.
It has taken me a few days to process the day. As you can imagine.
Thank you ladies.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience this unbelievable celebration.
Ruth’s right…..If you are thinking about following your dreams but are suffering from endless layers of self doubt, the worries of the response of others, not feeling good enough…..as Nike says-
Just do it! It’s okay to give it a go! xx
